In 2006, Help Us Dry the Tears funded the construction of the House of Divine Mercy, a hospice for palliative care in Timișoara, Romania, named in honour of the organisation. Since then, this 10-bed facility has provided care and comfort to over 3,000 terminally ill patients, offering physical, emotional, and spiritual support to those with serious, incurable, or chronic advanced illnesses—and to their families—regardless of religious affiliation.
The hospice operates with a small, dedicated staff to ensure round-the-clock care, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. It is run by the Congregation of the Daughters of St. Francis of Assisi, which operates internationally, with a strong presence in Romania.
By Providence, and through the mercy of Jesus, this project—born of compassion—has come back into our care. Since 2026, Help Us Dry the Tears has once again provided financial support to guarantee the hospice’s continued operation, prevent any risk of closure, and ensure it can continue to provide comfort, care, and consolation to those most in need.
