to the "Birthplace of Divine Mercy"
The
Gates of Dawn
The
Gates of Dawn where the great shrine to the “Mother
of Divine Mercy” has survived for 500 years. And where
the “Message of Divine Mercy” was first proclaimed
to the world by Fr. Michael Sopocko, S.J. Faustina’s
Spiritual Director. And it was there that Fr. Sopocko exposed
the original image of Divine Mercy to the world for the
first time. Amongst the vast crowd that day Sr. Faustina
stood looking up at the shrine and Fr.Sopocko, her mission
had begun the world now knew of the message |

St
Faustina's House
This
is the house in Vilnius where the “Chaplet of Divine
Mercy”, was given to Saint Faustina. The most powerful
prayer given by God to mankind, since he gave us the “Our
Father” Come with us and stand in the room where this
sacred prayer was receited by Jesus to Faustina for the
first time, stand where she stood when Jesus spoke to her
that fatefilled day in 1935. It is a most extraordinary
experience, you will never feel the same again. |

Mother
Of Mercy
See
the most beautiful picture ever painted of Our Lady. It
is five hundred years old and has hung on the walls of the
City of Vilnius all that time and during many occupations
by foreign armies. This included the Germans in the last
world war, and the Russians up until 1994. All other religious
statues and images were destroyed during these occupations
but the Mother of Divine Mercy survived miraculously untouched.Thousands
of people received many graces from this image during those
terrible years, and still do today |

The
Original Image
This
is the first image of Divine Mercy ever painted. It was
painted under the guidance of Saint Faustina and Fr.Sopocko
her Spiritual Director. It was hidden away during the
German and Russian occupation. It has now been restored
and hangs in a special Divine Mercy shrine in the heart
of Vilnius. The shrine was created in a very old historical
church by Cardinal Audry Backis the Archbishop of Vilnius
